Marriage

So apparently Christians used to perform same sex marriages. How does that make you feel?

  • I already knew that. It's never made any sense to me why they stopped...

  • I never knew that until I read it in the political section. Now I am interested but my school week starts over tomorrow :( so this has to go on the back burner until I finish my homework.

  • Honestly, not much.. I still believe homosexuality is wrong and I am a Christian. And I definitely 100% stand by what I believe in and no article is going to change my mind, sorry.

  • I'm pretty sure I'd heard that before, and I'm not surprised.

  • Doesn't bother me a bit. In fact, it only furthers my conviction that homosexuality is completely natural and acceptable. I don't believe that the Bible (or God) says that homosexual relationships are wrong (I believe that the interpretation is all bogged up, lol). :)

  • It doesn't matter to me in the slightest - I decide what is right and wrong for me based on conviction, not history.  Besides, just because something happened in the past with the church doesn't make it right (or wrong, necessarily).  Remember the Salem witch trials?  To me that was one big Ooops as far as Christianity goes.  My point is lots of things have gone in and out of style with religion, I believe it's up to the individual to decide what is right or wrong for them.

  • I have written posts before about how there are different brands of Christianity. Just because certain sects of Christianity performed gay marriage does not make it right. Biblically, it is still wrong. God's Word still stands. The most prominent figure in Christianity today could perform gay marriage and it would still be against the Bible. So in all honesty, this means nothing to me.
