  • One of the best things you can do to help the child speak is to read to them and speak to them frequently. Even if he can't respond well, he will develope those skills over time. Don't stress over it. If you want, you can get flashcards. too. Repetition is a powerful tool. Just read, speak, sing and do flashcards everyday and he will catch on. Speak to him and wait for a response. Let him know that what he has to say (even if it's little), is important. He will look forward to your positive response as a reward for speaking and singing with and to you. =)

  • Lots of communication helps! Constantly talking to and singing to children really helps! If you do easy songs to mimik, it will encourage talking. One that worked for us was the elmo song, because it had a lot of LA LA LA in it! :) good luck!
