she smells..?

my dd's girl parts smell...constantly. we bathe her every night, and obviously with bathing, we wash with soap or body wash..what can i do to cut this smell?

  • Talk to her doc. Washing with soap down there every night may have given her a yeast infection.

  • but it's not the regular soap that you and i would use, it's the baby wash.

  • I agree with the PP. Plus it could just be part of her chemestry. Is it a bad smell, or more of a musk smell? I know that my almost 2 year old son has a very distinct musk to him. Like you said, it doesn't matter how often you bathe him, he still has the scent, then again so does my husband. It isn't a bad or even strong scent per say, just a musk, kwim?

  • it's not necessarily a bad smell..i've smelled it for so long that it's just the norm almost..but it's a strong musky smell.

  • Oh, and as for soap, that is why they tell you not to put baby girls in a bubble bath, the additives in the soap can cause a yeast infection.

  • I know it's the "baby soap", but it's STILL Soap! You may not be giving her bubble baths, but baby soap is pretty sudsy.....

    Take her to the doctor and discuss things with him/her.
