  • Cutting teeth just makes all the symptoms - including the poop - worse. It takes 7 to 10 days to get over a virus. If you are concerned about dehydration, try to give him pedilyte. Generally, babies who are a little dry will drink it but babies who are fine won't. If he doesn't want to eat (drink milk), don't worry about it - fluids like pedilyte, juice or water (in that order) are more important.

  • just give him formula, to make sure he gets full and has his nutrients. but yeah, when babies teeth, the symptoms are just like a cold, fever, diareah, i've never heard of vomiting, but since the doc said he has a virus that could be from that. as for pushing the fluids, you can put an extra oz of water in his formula, and give him water. make sure you water down his juice as well. those little gerber juices do need to be watered down, even though people say they don't.

  • similac has a soy formula that is just for babies that are having diarrhea....It is called isomil DF...I have never used it, so I cannot say what the difference is between it and regular soy formula, but that might be something to check into!!

  • DO NOT give him water...it makes diarrhea worse....give him pedialyte to replenish his electrolytes. water will also make the vomiting worse.
