Do you find that your kids eat 4 meals while in school?

My kids eat breakfast, lunch and dinner all the time but when school is in session they also eat the equivalent of a meal right after school. They still eat dinner though. I'm always afraid that it will interfere but it doesn't. So, I was just wondering if any of you have noticed this with your Teens?

  • My son has breakfast at home and may eat at school again if he likes it since it is free, then lunch a snack and dinner then usually a snack after dinner too.

  • I used to do that when I was in school too, I think it's because it's quite a long time between luch and the time they get home, and they're growing

  • Shoot. Mine eat breakfast at home, breakfast at school, lunch at school, snack at school (the 1st grader), snack at home, supper and generally ANOTHER snack mid evening! But...six small meals is better for your body than three big ones anyway.

  • Yes but I have been to my kids school. They take one bite of their lunch then chunk it.

  • Yes, it's actually more like 5-6. Breakfast, lunch, snack, snack, dinner, snack. My son eats two lunches at school and sometimes wakes up hungry around 2am.

  • Yes, I have. My 12 year old gets breakfast and lunch at school, eats a snack when he gets home and usually a second snack after dinner. But he's also complaining about his shoulders, hips and knees aching, so I suspect he's about to shoot up in height again. Last time he ate like this, he grew almost 2 inches in 3 months.
