Would u still cook it?

I bought a big pack of chicken legs (I love the dark meat) my dh prefers white meat anyway I bought this pack back Nov. 09 it has been frozen since I feel like cooking it today and add a breast or two for my dh.
What are your thoughts? thanks!

  • I don't know how long meat can be frozen and still be good, so if it were me I would toss it and fix something else. You could call a butcher or the meat person at the supermarket and ask them if they think it would still be good.

    Freezing preserves food forever since it stops growth of bacteria. The problem is the quality of the taste diminishes with time. It should be good up to six months if it doesn't get freezer burnt by then.

  • I definitely would - we buy our meat "in bulk" from farmers once a year or less (buy a whole steer & have it butchered/processed, chickens that are freshly processed, etc) - I've cooked plenty of meat that had been in the freezer for longer than that and it's always been fine. Don't waste it just because it's been in the freezer for a few months.
