What does "bumped" mean in online jargon?

  • It moves the post to the top of the pile so it can get more attention. In the groups or some sites, the post will slide onto another page, and bumping it puts it back on the first page.

  • All of those are good. I have also seen people 'bump' to get an answer to a question that they find interesting but don't have answer for and what to see it answered sooner as opposed to later.

  • Moves the question back up to the top. Usually reserve it for question you do not know the answer to or deserve more attention.
