How many ways can you make mashed potatoes?

I make homemade mashed potatoes. They are plain but they are GOOD! Sometimes I add garlic salt or cheese. What other things do you do to mashed potatoes? I'm looking for more creative things to do!

  • I frequently stir in ranch or add sour cream. Spices are good. You can add the juices from whatever you are cooking into the mashed potatoes (just make sure not to add too much liquid all at once).

  • I dont do too much, I like them to have lumps, I add butter, sour cream, milk, salt pepper and thats about it.
A friend makes an awesome mashed potatoe baked thing, she makes lumpy mashed potatoes, butter, milk salt pepper tons of cheese bacon bits stirs it all together, puts it in a baking dish, tops with more cheese, bakes on 350* til cheese is melted. Not exactly healthy but so good!

  • Roasted fresh garlic and sharp cheddar. If you feel like clogging an artery or two, use whole cream instead of milk - decadent but definitely a once a year kind of thing.
