Housing Help!!!

For the past year, my 6-year old daughter and I have been living with my parents.I desperately want to finally get out on my own! My question is this: is there a website I can go to, to find out how much I qualify for, for a loan? Or does anyone know of a site that lists affordable rentals or places for sale (apartments, condos, homes, etc...)? I'm looking for something with 2-bedrooms...and it has to be a decent neighborhood! Any advice? Ideas? Suggestions?

  • I would try to get pre-approved through your bank. You may want to try more than one bank, cuz they will give you different amounts that you qualify for. You may also want to look up mortgage brokers in your area.... I was in your situation but I didn't qualify for a big enough loan so now I just rent a great neighborhood- good luck!!

  • You could get on craigslist.com or move.com. you should try a few different banks and see which ones give you the better loan. GL on the search and move.

  • Realtor.com now gives you the ability to search for homes for rent. Just select "Rent" on the search options and put in the rest of your options. They'll give you a list. You can also use Apartmentguide.com - I wouldn't trust a website to give you loan amounts and what you qualify for. Go to your bank or get a reference for a lender to give you proper and accurate information based on your financial situation.
