  • depends~if you want to grow hair out for "locks for love" it needs to be not chemically treated. I have been lighten my DD front long pieces around her face since 5th grade...

  • my friend left her 2yo with her MIL for the day & when she got back, her hair was highlighted. 2 is definitely too young. i would wait until at least 12 before i even consider it for my daughters.

  • i think 12, though i have had to hl a 9 yo's's so damaging to hair i wouldn't recommend it to anyone, i would recommend semi or demi haircolor so that it comes out and you can keep playing with color since so many people like to do that.

  • Not before 12 or 13

  • I donate client hair to locks of love all the time, it doesn't matter if it's colored or highlighted. I do a few kids here and there at the salon, just not the full foil deal, usualy just a couple. Sometimes I let my 4 yo have a temporary pink or purple strand that kinda peaks out. Toddler would be pushing it for me. I would do highlites before makeup! lol

  • My sister reached a compromise with her 7year old daughter when her sun lightened hair had to be cut for school. She would get the color back after payday. Well, it looks nice, just surprised.

  • If they wanted them I wouldn't not do it just because of age... I mean, at 4 or 5 I would wonder why they wanted something like that. But by 4th or 5th grade they start to notice what others look like and what they want to look like...
