when did your daughters hit puberty? ours seems like she is, but young!

I SWEAR she has PMS but she is almost 9. Maybe it's just mood swings? Was wondering if anyone else had this issue. Thanks!

  • I've heard of girls starting their periods when they were 9. I didn't start til 12, but friends of mine in school started around the 5th grade. It could happen. Good luck!

  • i got my period when i was 8. it's all those hormones they give to chickens. not complaining though that i got my figure early. though i can see where a mom wouldn't like that cause i don't want my daughter to bloom early like i did

  • our oldest was 11 when she hit puberty but my 8 year old is very clearly getting breasts so 9 isnt that young.

  • She already has a "figure" and that worries me. She is in 4th grade, and a friend of mine had 3 girls in her daughter's 4th grade class last year start their periods. It just seems so young! I was almost 12 when I started *sigh* She is our only daughter, surrounded by 3 brothers. I was hoping we'd have longer to prepare for this.
