Eat this or Die!

I need to help dh lose weight and I'd very much like to see him improve his health. I'm just not sure what to feed him.

He won't do vegetarian, doesn't like chicken, but meat is very important to him. He likes food with a lot of flavor, hot & spicy.

He does enjoy beans & rice with cornbread, but the way he likes it made is very unhealthy. (lots of ham & salt in the beans) Is there a way to make if flavorful without the bad stuff?

Any ideas on what I should do food / meal wise?

  • Buy lean meats only for starters. Use Mrs. Dash as flavoring.

  • For ground beef recipes, try substituting ground turkey. I think it's a leaner meat, and he may not even notice! We eat turkey burgers instead of beef.

    I have heard a lot of people having success with Weight Watchers. I know they have recipes too.

  • Do a search for spicy salmon. Taste so good and it's got a good kick to it.
