What kind of seat does your 4-5 yr old use in the car?

Booster with or without back, convertible?

My daughter will be 5 this fall. She still is currently in a convertible car seat with regular seat belt. However, my 2nd child will need the convertible seat soon.

  • We have a 4'2" and 68lb. 5-year-old. He is in a booster with the back because he says it is uncomfortable without the back.

  • my girl is 3 but will be in her Britax Hippo seat until she reaches the limit, which (if i remember right) is 65 harnessed... it's a special seat for kids with hip issues... so i feel best with her in that... since she has hip issues.

  • My son is almost 4 and is currently in a Britax Boulevard, which harnesses up to 65 lbs. We're going to switch him to a Graco Nautilus soon because his baby sister is going to need the convertible seat. I plan to harness him until the max on the Nautilus before switching it to a high back booster.
