  • I don't have a teenage dd, but I have a 23 year old son and he is on my cell phone family plan. Thank GOODNESS I have unlimited text message rate, $6.99 a month, because today I got a 47 page cell phone bill. All text messages! My cell phone barely filled one page of phone calls incoming and outgoing and all my texts.

  • My niece does. It's normal. She's 17 though.. How old is your teenager? If she's 13 to 15 you can just not allow her to text all day!

  • Not currently but my son did when he was a teenager...right up until he went over his limit the second time. Then I disabled everything on his phone but calls for one solid year. He was not on our bill very long after that, but he never went over again either.

  • My 17 year old (boy) texts constantly. I recently read that teens average 2,700 texts a month ... mine averaged 28,000 each month this past summer.

  • Nope. She doesn't. But we take the phone up at bedtime and the school doesn't allow them to be on during school hours. And with Verizon - you can actually go in and set limits on texts and hours.

  • My 13 year old SD texts alllllll day and night! She sleeps with the phone by her head or in her hand. That being said, she is only with us for the summer and i would not allow that if it were a school night.

  • OMG yes. We took the children camping where there was no cell service, tv or internet just to reconnect.
