  • Not likley. People always made comments like that to me. Your OB would have found out way sooner, 2 heartbeats, elevated hormone counts*higher than normal, measuring over whats typical etc.

  • I don't think with today's technology they would have missed one.

  • Everyone said the same to me, but I think if you were having twins your doctor would have noticed, like the first poster said.

  • They check heart rate during's procedure. It only takes a second. You've had 2 ultrasounds but never a doppler? Seriously?

  • They would see the heartbeat on the ultrasound. And it's not likely that they would miss the hormone levels associated with twins

  • people told me i was having twins too...and i had twins!!!
i don't normally do ultrasounds, so we noticed two heart beats around 5 months along. at about 4 months people looked at me funny when i said i wasn't having twins : )
for the pregnancy following the twins we did get an ultrasound to count the babies. i waited until 12 weeks, so that there would be very little chance of missing a twin.
    congratulations and good luck!!!!

  • Rarely is a twin missed by ultrasound, so odds are you are only having one. By 7 weeks you can clearly see two fetal poles if you are having twins. If you look bigger than you think you should talk to your doctor about it. It could be that you are bloating or retaining water. GL & congrats!

  • LOL....Everyone kept asking me that with my last pregnancy too. I really popped out rather quick. Its probably just the way you are carrying, everyone is different.
Although its not impossible that they missed another baby on an isnt 100% really is rather unlikely that they would miss it twice.
