I haven't gotten a period since the birth of my daughter, should I be considered?

It's been 3 months since the birth of my daughter and haven't had my period. My mom thinks I might be pregnant but I've taken two pregnancy tests within the past month. Should I call my doctor and schedule an appointment. I've had sex with my baby's daddy more than once since her birth and I'm not on any birthcontrol yet but he pulls out each time we have sex.

  • ARE YOU BREAST FEEDING? THAT CAN KEEP YOU FROM GETTING YOUR CYCLE.

  • BUT DON'T USE IT AS BC. IF YOU GO SO MANY HOURS IN BETWEEN FEEDINGS YOU COULD START OVULAING AGAIN AND STILL GET PREGNANT WITHOUT YOUR PERIOD. MY BF DID!

  • I had my first period after having my son when he was 18 months old. But he nursed every 4 hours no matter what. I actually just read that your chances of getting pregnant while breastfeeding is less than 6% in the first year, as long as you are nursing every 4 - 6 hours without supplementing.

  • Even if you are bf-ing, it is possible to get pregnant. My sister did. I did not have a period for 8 months (the length of time I bf'd). Are you having any other symptoms? If so, get another test.

  • I didn't breastfeed and I didn't get my period until 3 months after my daughter was born. I wouldn't be concerned that you haven't gotten one yet, but I would get a blood test to check for pregnancy.
