  • My boys (nearly 10 & 6) can each earn up to 30 minutes of screen time (that includes TV, computer and other video games) on school nights - all homework and chores need to be done without complaint. On weekends, they have cartoon time on Saturday morning and we usually have a family movie night on Friday evening. Sunday we're usually not home much, but they might get some time then.

I don't think it's mean - I think I'm helping them to prioritize their lives.

  • a few hours some days. his usual is probably in the range of 1-2hrs total. somedays more, some days less. it all depends on what the household is doing.

  • Well I just moved in with my uncle after lossing my apartment. WE had to throw away all my son toys. So now snice he has no toys i let him watch t.v. when ever he wants, & if i think he had wayy to much, Then Me or my husband will take him outside to play with the dirt. I would take him to the park, But that a 45 min walk, with a temp of 85 & above & we have no car.

  • Well the reason I am so strict is because, they have homework and chores everyday and on tuesdays and thursdays they have soccer practice so our schedules are already pretty full.

  • its not good for children under 2 to be watching tv because of all the commercials they show during kids shows (most are marked for adults or sugery cereals) i would get them outside as much as possible or just put in some videos i didnt watch actual tv until i was 7

  • He watches about 2 hours a day, give or take a few minutes. Actually that is too much by my account. He would love to sit and veg out in front of t.v. if we let him, but I can see the effects it has on him throughout the week. But his dad says things like, "let him watch tv, he worked hard all day at school", so I cave a little bit.

  • They are allowed to watch an hour per child. So, two hours a day, except Fridays (we have alot to do on that day). And it has to be something I want them to watch, and educational.

  • We don't have a TV in our house. Sometimes I let Glenn watch Thomas the Tank Engine or other educational DVD's on my laptop, but that's it.
