  • My DH hasn't had a drink in years... He is an alcoholic... So yes, I would believe him, he's proven he means it at this point.

  • If he said he wasn't, then I'd believe him. He's true to his word.

  • yes why??? Because he gave me reason to believe. He doesn't drink now, but when I first met him he was drunk 2 or 3 days later he asked me out again he was drunk. I told him one one conditon. He said what is that? I told him he needs to stop drinking or I wont date him I told him that I have a dad who is an aloholic and I see my mom go through hell (my dad has been sober 5 month now though) so I told him I don't want to be like that and I will not date a guy who is going to drink and get drunk all the time and I deffinatly don't want to be with someone like that. He said ok and quiet. We been together 10.5 years now and married almost 7 of thos years and since we been together he has only gotten drunk one time and that was with my primission a few months ago.

  • I would believe mine but he has never had an issue with drinking. Now smoking it is harder to believe. He is trying but yesterday after 3 months of no smoking he had a cigarette. He threw the pack out but I wonder if he really did. I hope for his sake he does quit smoking but when someone is addicted to something it is a challenge.

  • If he is truely an alcoholic, he needs to go to AA, and get help, because without the help alcoholics always go back. They need a support system

  • I would hope for the best but not let my guard down. To me, time tells all.

  • Yes, I would, but my fiance has only been drunk a few times in the 3 years we've been together so it's never been an issue.

  • yes, my husband is slowly working on not drinking anymore as I can't anymore because of my medications I am on. Just like he quit smoking when I got preggo...

  • I have a hard time believing anybody with an addiction when they say they won't do it anymore. I think they might quit for awhile then go back on their word. That's just been my experience with addicts.
