  • I put diapers and pet food on another line item so I can see how much they are costing even if I purchase them at the grocery store, I want to see how much the food is... and diapers are expensive!

  • I include those things in the food budget, it just makes sense to me because they are things we have to have for the entire household.

  • Yes, they are in the budget... but I don't buy paper towels or laundry detergent or cleaning products. I use towels and make my own which is an expense I make once a year and it is only about $20. The only thing odd in my grocery budget is cat food and litter.

  • In the budget

  • Yes, if it's going to be included on the same bill.

  • no they are 2 entirely separate "budgets". I shop at a grocery store for food, then walmart or target for other household necessities.

  • Yes, I do.

  • Not at all. I don't have the greatest of memories- so I wouldn't be at all surprised if I ended up spending the diaper money on groceries. So diaper money is separate from food, and money for household items is separate from food. I'd hate to get mid way though the month and realize I had no money for diapers!
