Do you like real Wood stained or painted?

I love real genuine wood. So I can see the grain of the wood in woodwork and furniture. I don't like seeing beautiful expensive wood painted. I love the real look. What about You?

  • If it is done correctly stained is way better imo. I tried unsuccessfully to stain different pieces in the past and I've never been satisfied w/ my work so I painted over it.

  • I prefer it stained so I can see the beauty of the wood. Why go and mess it all up w/paint. I'm staining a table right now and it may be my S/O GR-Mother or older, no one to ask, and it made it actually look presentable, and to think I almost put it in the burn pile.

  • It depends on the type of wood and the condition of the wood. I agree natural is nice but sometimes you have to paint it.
