  • get yourself a food journal and a calorie counter. you don't need any special foods, likely you just need to adjust your servings. put yourself at 1500 calories a day and try to work out for at least 30 minutes (to start) 3 times a week. do not go under 1200 calories a day or you will trigger the starvation response, and will do more harm than good. GL, and stick to it.

  • websites are nice too. I did carry around a t-zone calorie counter so I wouldn't have to pop online whenever I needed to fill out my food journal tho.

  • Eat lots of fruit....lots before each meal.

Find exercise you enjoy....otherwise you wont stick to it.

Dont beat yourself up if you slip into bad habits..embrace them and learn from them and accept them.

Take your time..its got to be a lifestyle change moreso than an attempt to lose weight.

    diet program for lifestyle change:

  • see a nutritionist. I think you said that you weigh almost 400lbs ( from a previous post). You do not want to take the advice from the person who recommended a 1500 calorie diet. You need more calories than that. waaay more. I am a nutritionist and personal trainer, and I usually do a calorie expenditure sheet with my clients.
