  • Yes. MIL is a control freak, but we don't see her often and just let it be her way when we do. Down deep she is a good person and I have learned a lot from her over the years.

  • I tolerate them. I don't mind them, we get along, but in a lot of ways they kind of annoy me.

  • My husb. comes from a very large family- so statistics would tell you that not ALL the inlaws are "likable". I should get an emmy for my civil performances at some of the family gatherings!

  • i just answered your other question..so this will seem weird, but i'm not particularly fond of them. they tend to be vacant, dismissive, and all-around not there. there's been no accommodations attempted to grow a relationship, even after our ds was born. for the most part, my SIL/MIL are very, how shall i say this without bashing anyone...'junior league-ish'. they keep up with the Joneses, and only the Joneses. they don't make time for family (us or his brother's family). they are very social..but only with certain people, and apparently, we're not their type. we're just 'family'.
very different from my own family. we're tight!
