Can you get your one month old to smile?

When I k8iss my son on his cheeks and mouth and make the noise he smiles ;)
At least I say it is lol cause I think I would much rather believe that over he has gas.

(this is not a debate question so if you are going to just tell me its gas you can move the heck on)

  • My dd smiled for the first time when she was 2 days old. Everyone including my dh said it was gas until I showed them the picture. Babies do smile. I've never seen my dd smile when she had gas lol the gas makes her tummy hurt. I will try to put the pic up of her smiling at 2 days old. <a href="http://s433.photobucket.com/albums/qq53/luvleemanna/?action=view&current=001.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i433.photobucket.com/albums/qq53/luvleemanna/001.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

  • I always said those were smiles too!! My son used to do them, I loved it! I too hated when people said, "It's just gas".

  • i couldnt but my DH could. He'd blow raspberries on her toes and heels and she'd crack up like crazy! now all i gotta do is wait for her to kick me, pretend she knocked me out and then go "AH!" and it scares her yet she giggles! she loves it!!!!

  • Some times just softly rub their cheeks and they smile. I love to kiss babies on the neck for some reason too. I'm sure your baby recognizes your voice, talk to him ever so quietly
