What do you think?

I was wondering do you think men take it as hard as women when their partner decides to leave a marriage or long term relationship? And how upset do you think your so woud be if you left them? Mine tells me im his world but when we fight i wonder sometimes lol he gets so shut down i know he would miss me but how bad i dont know hes not very emotional i think in 7 yrs ive seen him cry 3 times when we got married when i had our child and when his uncle died?

  • My hubby would be a bigger mess than I would. Not saying that I would not be but I just know him.

  • I think that each and every person is an individual. We all respond differently, depending on our temperament, our communication style, the way we were raised, our belief systems, etc.
Any generalized statements (such as "women take it harder than men" or "men take it harder than women") are pretty useless.

  • I know some men that have taken it harder than the women. I think it depends on the man, and how much they honestly cared for their wife/partner.

  • Men and women communicate different. Understanding these differences can help you understand your husband and help you communicate better. Deborah Tannen is the noted expert in the area of sexual differences in communication. Here is an article written by her and her website with an interview.
