Could sex be causing this? adult content

I am on my 2nd or 3rd UTI in the past 6 months (seen Dr. twice). How do you clean yourself after sex and can not doing it right cause infection? Could it be an allergy to a product we use for sex that only feels like an infection? It seems to get worse after we have sex and in periods of time where we are doing it alot!

  • I have been told to go to the bathroom and then wash with a wash cloth. If you think it is a product you use. Stopping use it for some time and see if that makes a difference.

  • maybe your allergic to latex if you use latex condoms. they caused big problems for me. pain, swelling, itching....i thought i had something bad! turned out it was the latex. latex free condoms are a little more expensive but its worth it if thats the case.

  • Some times (especially in the summer months) if you have sex lets say after work, or before bed and he or you have not taken a shower before hand, that can cause you to get an infection. It is from sweating in that area and not properly cleaning it before having sex. If you use condoms it could be the latex, (do you have any problems at the doctors office when they use latex gloves, or when handling latex balloons?) If you have recently changed products that you use during sex then that may be the issue, if not it is most likely not that if this has just started happening and you have been using the same products for awhile. After sex you should always clean that area with soap and a wash cloth (at least) if you do not take a shower, it is not a good ides to just wipe the area with a towel or something that can leave bacteria behind and cause the infection.
