I heard that once you have GBS in one pregnancy that all pregnancies afterwards will result in you having it. Is this true?

  • No, but you are more likely to have it is subsequent pregnancies.

  • Once you have GBS you may always have it, some women are carriers of the bactieria.

  • Is it Group Strep B that you are talking about ? If it is in my case yes , I had it with my last two kids and had to get antibiotics before I delivered so I wouldn't pass it on to them .

  • My mom was postitive for all 7 of her kids.. So since I got a positive with my daughter I fully expect to have it with all my other pregnancies..

  • yes i'm talking about group b strep. i didn't have it with my first, but i had it with my 2nd.
