is it ok that my 7 month old isn't crawling?

People keep asking if my 7 month old daughter is crawling yet (people have been asking me this since she was 5 months) and they seemed surprised when I tell them she's not yet, but it's getting me to wonder if that's normal/ok that she still isn't crawling...I mean I'm not real worried or anything because she seems to be a very healthy baby, I'm just wondering if there's anything I could do to help her figure out this crawling thing (hehe) and if it's normal that she's not crawling yet...

  • I think she should be fine, neither of mine crawled till about 8 months, but my niece awww she's so tiny, was crawling around at about 7 months. It was so odd seeing her get around like that because she was all small, and my kids were much bigger and fatter when they started LOL!

  • My doctor told me that there is a reason you don't see crawling on any of the milestone charts. Every baby starts when they are ready. A friend of mine had a boy who never crawled, he just went straight to walking!

  • My son never crawled really, not until after he started walking at 14 months old.

  • thanks :) that's encouraging, lots of the people I've known all expect a baby to be crawling by 6 months or yeah it's encouraging to know she's right on track :D

  • every baby is different, there's no need to put a timeline on developmental milestones.
