  • I had GD and was insulin dependent. I had special sonograms often so they could keep up on how the baby was growing. They determined that if I went full term, my baby would be 10+ pounds. I was induced 2 weeks early and he was 6lbs 14oz! NOT a large baby! So, it IS true that GD is a serious thing that needs to be monitored but my baby wasn't anywhere near as big as they said he would be. I did end up having a C-section but it wasn't related to the GD.

  • i dont see why your trying to find out what other people did that had GD (whatever that is) if the doctors told you you didnt have it. And you dont have to have a C-section if the baby is big, i was over 10lbs and my bf was too and our mothers had us vaginally.

  • if u have GD your baby will be born with low birth weight- i am measuring big but my first baby did too - its not bad every baby grows at its own rate after 30 weeks so dont stress about it - id rather have a big healthy baby than worry about having GD and being on bedrest to keep from delivering early with an under developed baby

  • I think she meant Gestational Diabetes... but really, it's SO annoying when you have to try and figure it out when people cannot spell! GRR! Use spell check or something.
