How do I pick a good babysitter?

Where can I find one who is reliable and who I can really trust? Where did you find yours?

  • I found my childcare jobs (have worked for 3 families now part time) through www.care.com and www.sittercity.com. You can search by zipcode for care providers. I have a background check posted plus had my fingerprints done for one family. And they called all my references. I know people say "oh no not through a website" but the families I help out have no immediate family nearby and needed care for their children. They did their homework and I did mine to check them out too. We always met at a local coffee shop first and then proceeded from there. Neither one of us gave out too much personal info until we were comfortable with each other. Good luck

  • You can always call redcross, and see whos graduated from their babysitting classes. Or if you have a friend with an older child who has done babysitting before.
