  • It seems like a total waste of money.

    What are the benefits?

Answer by UpSheRises at 4:15 PM on Sep. 3, 2010

  • No because we have insurance. However, my niece cut her leg during PE when she slammed into the bleachers are few years and they do not have insurance. The principal told my sister if they had purchased the insurance, she would have been covered.

  • I've never heard of it before. Is that only something that's offered in certain areas?

  • Every school I have ever been to (primary and secondary) has offered it. It is insurance that covers your kid if something happens to them on school grounds during school hours. You can pay for extended 24 hour coverage or dental coverage, but both are extra.

  • No, he is already insured and it's kind of expensive.

  • We carry health insurance for our family as is the Law here in MA. The school also carries a policy for athletics... if someone gets hurt it will cover the student over and above what their insurance doesn't cover. So I don't feel the need to buy insurance.
