Has your school changed it's hours this year? Ours just did 0_o

My 13 yr old is returning to the same school for his 8th grade year. His hours were 7:18am - 1:25pm. Well all of a sudden this year I get a recorded phone message saying they will be going from 8:18am-3:25pm. They start Tuesday, it's not a huge deal, but it is an extra hour and I find it odd. Plus it screws up my routine since I have 2 other kids in a different school.

  • A lot of schools are trying to let kids get a little extra sleep in the mornings, hoping it'll improve performance and test scores.

my local school was 1/2 day kindergarten last year and mandatory full day now.

  • Yes our preschoolers are now going a full day instead of half a day.

  • I wish our school was adding an extra hour to each day. Unfortunately, students in this country are not keeping up with students in other countries. An extra hour of instruction is a good thing.
