Saddest song you've heard?

I would have to say "Concrete Angel" by Martina McBride.. & "Dont take the girl" by Tim McGraw. How about you?

  • "By Your Side" - Sade.
My Father passed in April of this year. My Mom sat every hour she wasn't at work or asleep besdie his bed! She bearly ate and she said to him as she bent over... "You are my life, don't you leave me!!!"
I never saw my Mom like that.
My Father cried and could not speak do to a traceotamy in his throat, so no sound came out. But I saw tears and the physical motion of his body jerking from cancer, peumonia, and sadness in his heart.
My Mother was their by his side.

  • My Immortal by Evanescence. If I look at it on youtube, it's always attached to a eulogy. Even the Sims 2 has one. Also, Iz Kamakawiwo'ole's version of Somewhere Over The Rainbow is sad.

  • There was a country artist who put out a song right after 9/11 - NO NOT ALAN JACKSON - and that song is the absolute saddest song I have ever heard. His name is Dusty Drake, and the song is One Last Time. My heart breaks just thinking about it. GOD BLESS THE USA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I think the all-time saddest is "I'll be Home for Christmas." That song just gets to me because I know it's about soldiers dreaming of being home "if only in my dreams." Always makes me cry!

  • Don't take the girl is SOOO sad... but I heard one sadder on Sons of Anarchy... I don't know the artist or the song title, but it went

    Mary
    You're covered in roses
    You're covered in Ruins
    You're covered in treetops
    You're covered in birds
    (something about birds singing songs)
    But you'll always stay
    Mary

I took it to be about a young woman's untimely death.
