  • We did a pond theme. My mom painted a big pond on the wall with ducks and frogs and turtles. Then she painted turtles and stuff all around the room and I stenciled flowers. DD just sits in her crib and stares up at the pond.

  • My DD is almost 5 and I had a friend to paint a tree, grass, birdhouse, flowers and some small birds & bees on the walls. And her bedding was pink & yellow stripes with flowers. I wanted to paint something that would grow with her. She has a big girl bed now with a black, pink & white comforter and the walls still look great with it. If I had another one, I would do polka dots or stripes. I like the more modern look and that can stay with them for a long time.

  • my nephew had pirates and boating for his theme with his dad, and a jungle theme at his moms..

my daughter had a butterfly fairy theme (I wanted to stay away from winnie the pooh because everyone else had that one).

  • I painted my son's room's walls all white and the trim primary colors (red baseboard, yellow around the doors, blue closet doors). Then I could decorate the room in any theme I wanted by using bedding & accessories. As a newborn, it was Paddington Bear. As a toddler, I put shapes, alphabet & number clings, etc. on the walls and he had construction themed bedding. As an elementary age child, he had race car bedding & race car themed posters on the walls. Now, as a teen, the trim has been replaced with wood tones and the walls toned down with a warmer, but still fairly neutral, paint color and he has accessories & bedding for our local football team.
