Is there a type of lock that uses keys on both sides for a sliding glass door?

I need to keep my teen from sneaking out the basement door.

  • I don't think so, but there may be a different kind of lock that you could add to it.

  • You can put an alarm on it, and put the key pad in your bedroom.

  • Can you reverse the handle or lock so that it is on the outside. Otherwise, alarms sound good or just make it so it doesn't open at all!

  • Lol, if I reverse the handle then someone could come in. I'm afraid we wouldn't be able to hear an alarm, at least an alarm that we could hear. We're 2 floors up from the basement.

  • That is a fire hazard, A door alarm would be safer.
