how much liquid to i use to cook cornish hens in my crockpot?

  • Only about 1/2 cup. The crock pot makes it's own liquid.

  • I wouldn't think much. They will make their own juices as they cook. Why Cornish hens in the crock pot? Is their something I don't know because I would think that would make it fall off the bone and Cornish hens are so fun to eat whole! lol. I LOVE roasting them with stuffing!

  • For a couple hens I'd say about a cup of water. You can use wine if you like or chicken broth, but water is fine. If I use a half cup of water, I spray the pot with cooking spray first.

    Here are a bunch of recipes. I see that some don't add any liquid, but those I looked at do have vegetables which may add liquid.

    Here's another recipe. It uses a half cup of white wine and also has tomatoes, onions, carrots. celery.

    I can't find any recipes with just water.
