how do stop dogs from digging in the yard?

  • I really don't think you can. It can be from boredom. If my dogs are outside for too long they start doing that. But if it's a breed like beagles or dauchsunds they cant resist!

  • Put some rose branches in the spots he is digging. Just under the surface so when he digs it pokes his paws.

  • I've got four dogs and there are ferals in the area .... I recommend cement grass.

  • Once they start, there is really nothing you can do. Usually it is from boredom so maybe don't leave them outside so long at one time.

  • I have four dogs...two that love to dig. I have found a great way to stop them..it works EVERY time. When they start a hole I go around the yard and pick up a few piles of dog poop, then put it in the hole. I then cover it slightly with dirt. They will NOT return to the same place. Do this each time they start a hole. After a while they stopped digging all together. Now they will only start a hole if we get moles in the yard...then I repeat the process and they stop. I hope this helps.
