Do you defrost your hamburg before you start cooking it for Hamburg Helper or Sloppy Joes?

I don't. I cook it a little bit slower at first with some water added and I scrape the cooked burger off of the frozen part as it cooks. I do this for tacos too. If you want really small pieces of meat, scrape it more often. If you want larger pieces, scrape it less.

  • yes - totally easier to cook. it probably takes less time to just defrost the meat than to stand over it continually scraping...

  • It browns easier and cooks a lot nicer if you have it thawed before you cook it. However, in reality that doesn't happen very often, because 'what's for dinner' is usually thought up at last minute.

  • its safer to cook when not frozen i think... just defrost in microwave
