  • Newborn diapers are usually runny. She maybe reacting to something you ate. Keep in mind that everything you eat or drink, the baby gets through your breastmilk.

  • Take her in. Newborns and diarrea do not mix well. She can get dehydrated way too fast.

  • Are you sure she has the runs? Baby's have very loose stools when they are that little. She might just be crying because she is pooping, not because its diarrhea. Babies cry for a lot of reasons. But if you are truly concerned, take her to the doctor, there is nothing you can give a two week old baby for diarrhea. GL

  • That is normal for a breast fed baby if the bowel color is orange in color, unless it is pure liquid?

  • What constitutes 'the runs?' Is is foul smelling, greenish, actual diarrhea? It's normal for bf'd babies to have liquid 'mustardy' poops... it's also normal for them to have bowel movements a LOT- every feeding, or even more often than that. If it's yellow and doesn't smell like adult diarrhea, I would assume it's a normal bf'd poop. If it's equivalent to adult diarrhea (including the odor) I would call your doctor. But bf'd babies very seldom have 'solid' poops until they start eating solid food. HTH a bit!

  • if it soaks nearly completely into the diaper, it's diarrhea. otherwise it's normal runny breastmilk poo. If you think it's diarrhea, take her in, she will have to be seen, she can get dehydrated really quickly being so young.

  • I would take her in just to be on the safe side.
