whats the best way to deal with a 5 year old tantrum?

  • If you are home, send her to her room. Tell her the answer was NO and that all that "noise" is not going to change the answer. If she doesn't stop, tell her that she can go and cry/scream in her room and that when she is done, she is welcome to come back down to you.

  • put him in his room. make it a house rule that if your going to throw a fit you do it in your room. my kids know this rule and will go to there room before they cry now.

  • leave the place where the tatum is happening like a store or restaurant..... get rid of the stressor of the child

    When my 5 year old throws a tantrum, I pick him up, dump him on his bed and tell him to come out when he is ready to behave and talk like a normal boy.
