how likely is it that a hispanic baby will have colored eyes?

my sister had her baby and she's white but her dh is hispanic. their son looks hispanic too. he has dark skin, black hair, and black eyes. so i told her he has his dads eyes. she got all defensive saying he could have colored eyes. she said the doctor told her he would have colored eyes. they told me my son would have grey eyes and blonde hair but he has brown hair and blue eyes. have any of you met any half hispanic babies or children with colored eyes other than black or brown?

  • My husband and I are both Hispanic but my dad and mother in law have hazel eyes, my younger daughter was born with blue eyes, which later turned gray and they have now turned hazel.

  • I know hispanics with green and blue eyes. A lot depends on what country of origin their ancestors are. You never know, a recessive gene can pass down through the generations. I've known people who were same race have babies with a color neither parent has.

  • My husband is hispanic with dark brown eyes and I'm white with hazel eyes. Our oldest has really dark brown eyes. My son had blue eyes until he was about 2 and then turned green, now they are a mixture of green, brown and blue. Our youngest has light brown eyes.

  • Drs can tell you the likelihood of your child having certain eye/hair color, but they can't tell for certain. I have known many hispanic people with colored eyes.
