It's that time of year again in S. California. If you had to evacuate from your home, what would you take?

I'm looking out my kitchen window at huge billows of orange and black smoke. Because of the direction of the winds, I know my home is not in danger but thousands of homes in nearby communities are.
If I had to grab and go, here's my list...
Back up hard drive
Toddler items (blankie, clothes, diapers, toys, etc)
Clothes for me and hubby

What would you add to the list?

  • I don't live in South Carolina, but I would have to add some of my sentimental items to the list. I have a hope chest for my DS and DD. It has ultra-sound pics, confirmation from doc that I was pregnant, first Christmas & Easter outfits, what they wore home from the hospital, and lots of other stuff. I would have to grab that! I also have one filled with stuff from my child-hood. My father passed hen I was 8 and I have a shirt of his, some tools, and his wallet. Other than that and what you mentioned above, I would make sure I have toiletries! Oh, and my pillow! I hate using pillows from anywhere else! I'm oddly attached to my pillow. lol.
