Should i let my daughter get the flu shot?

She is going to be 2,
I have another baby on the way,
I myself never had the flu shot, as a child nor adult
My husband wants her to get the flu shot, for the little ones sake,
but its not all fair, why doesnt he get one himmself then,

My mother says she wouldnt he says he wants too,

I am so confused on what to do,
Are you going to get your child the flu shot, or have you already?

    no no flu shot here.
there is nothing that PROVES that you would have gotten the flu if you DIDNT get the shot. i havent gotten the flu in like 9 years if not more, and i havent gotten the shot that long either. You usually gET the flu or a fever or diahrea or any other sickness when you get the shot. i see it as pointless.

Yes, my daughter had the flu shot last year and she will have it again this year. I did tons of research last year (called the CDC, her doctor, books, etc) and decided that it was best for her to have it.

I feel that if I do not allow her to get the shot and she gets seriously ill this year I will blame myself.

i personally don't get the flu shot neither does my husband.
i did get a flu shot for my daughter last winter because at the time we were spending 1 or 2 nights a week with my husband's 90 year old grandmother who gets the flu in the wintertime.
since we are no longer spending the night with her i won't be getting the shot for my daughter.

You read my mind by bringing up this topic. I ran a post on my ToddlerBuzz (http://www.cafemom.com/dailybuzz/toddler/131/Do_You_Do_the_Flu_Shot) blog about this very thing. According to a poll, most moms are not going to get the shot for their toddler.
