  • We need our troops to come home where they belong.

  • There is a difference between combat being over and the combat brigades being there. They think if they tell everyone that the combat brigades are out that everyone will be happy. That the troops won't be fighting anymore. That's not the case. It's not that easy. We will probably always be there, just like Korea. Everyone needs to realize that. If we aren't always there, SOME troops there, then some will be there for a long time. I seriously doubt they will ALL be out by end of next year.

  • queen.bee, what do you think the military is for? Seriously. What do you think their job is? THIS IS THEIR JOB. As much as none of us actually WANT them to go, as much as when a lot of them joined, my hubby included, we didn't expect them to go, this is the purpose of the military. It's what our country does.

  • You knew that was going to happen. First they send new combat regiments over their and now we hear the truth. Surprise!

  • I guess some people can't understand what the military is about.

  • Queen bee, when our troops are at home they are training. When they are deployed they are professional killers and their job is to engage an enemy. That is what they train for, and the reason we have a military.

We will likely have troops in Iraq for a while (maybe a long while), and we'll be in 'stan for years, if not forever.

  • Yeah, they get shot at and have to fire back all without combat pay. The "get out at all costs" mind set doesn't work either. Win - that is the only way to leave with a sense that the country is stable.

  • Leaving them over there and called them no combat troops so they can't get combat pay is simply bs. What did Obama think was going to happen when he pulled out most of the troops?? Anyone with a brain could see this one coming, the militant Iraqi's are going to go after whatever troops are left there. Our people who serve in the military deserve better than this. I'm betting their spouses view it as a combat zone.

  • It will not be over if some groups, here in the USA keep holding Quoran burning events. Not a single American will be safe in not just Iraq but any Muslim country.
