Having a sewing day - anyone else?

Mostly for my two younger girls - Lupe and Tejana. I'm altering my oldest daughter Sofia's outgrown clothes, so that they fit my younger two nicely. And I'm doing some repair work on clothing that my twins Santos and Lalo have outgrown, so that their little brother Tomas can wear them to school.

I also made quilted school bags (all different) for each of my 6 kids.

Does anyone have any suggestions or other ideas on what to make?

  • I would have a sewing day, but my sewing machine is packed away until the laundry room gets cleaned out.

  • There are lots of great projects at  I'm sewing today too, but only putting badges on DD's sash.  Our first official meeting for this year is tomorrow and she wants all of her summer badges on her sash before we go back.

  • Didn't get to sew yesterday, but this week is going to be a sewing week for me. I'm making Christmas gifts. Quilted calendar holders, some potholders, embroidering dishtowels, and making some placemats. I might make a few totebags too. Plus, I need to make pajamas for Christmas for each of my kids and hubby, and I've got some quilts I want to work, I guess I better get busy!!

  • I sewed all weekend - cute little crayon rolls for my daughter's birthday party, two blankets, a bag I made out of a t-shirt and curtains for my daughter's room. I sewed so much I destroyed my sewing machine. Now I have to get it fixed so I can make Halloween costumes.

  • I would love a sewing day - hopefully next week I will have some time to sew! (Actually it may be a while before I can actually sew - I have to un-bury my sewing machine first.) One of the first things on my list are reusable grocery bags. I am making them out of a cute floral heavy cotton and denim. I also have a ton of alterations to do. A girlfriend gave me a bunch of her old jeans but she is taller than me, so I have to shorten them all before I can wear them :)
