If the HC bill was such a shining accomplishment,

Why are democrats avoiding the issue in their campaign ads? Not one has mentioned it.

  • They know the majority of Americans were not for the passage of that POS bill..and here we are so close to election time..and so GO FIGURE..

  • Oh, they mention it. The few that voted against it are using that to try to get re-elected! Not so shiny!!!!

  • I don't see ads, but the stuff that gets mailed to the house doesn't mention it, either.

A LOT of people hate that thing.

  • Well, you know they have that "if we say it, it is and they will believe it " attitude... So, I guess they figure, "if we pretend we didn't do that, or just ignore it, then that'll work, too"... After all, none of us are bright enough to see through all of their transparency...

  • An added question to this could also be. . . "If it were so great, why are all politicians exempt from having to take it like the rest of us?"

  • Well, one of my Senator's..Senator Wyden...used to be a huge supporter and now not only has he withdrawn his support but he is working with the state AG to opt Oregon out.

Sweet, just because it doesn't say "death panel" doesn't mean it's not in there. What do you think will happen to the people denied dialysis care? They will DIE..the group of people that got together and decided to cut this was essentially a PANEL.

  • Well, they know they are in danger of losing their seats, and by distancing themselves NOW, they think they can get re-elected. Which just tells me how hypocritical they are. If it was that important that they do what the voters wanted, they would not have been so scared of San Fran Nan, and done the right thing when it COUNTED!!

Answer by 29again at 11:17 PM on Sep. 6, 2010

  • Because the public isn't fully educated in the details of the HC bill, we would have no idea what they were talking about.

Geez, why do the most simple concepts have to be explained to you?

  • Politics is a game-

And the politicians think Americans are ignorant or at the very least disinterested. FWIW, I think many Americans ARE disinterested and disenfranchised in terms of the ENTIRE political process (hence the birth of the TPM). It has to do with members of ALL parties.
