I want to start running.... do I get started? I have an elliptical machine and use that regularly, but want to get into running. Any tips from other moms who run?

  • learn how to breathe. the biggest mistake people make is breathing quickly. you need to take slow, deep, even breaths through your nose. start off buy running for 3 min at a time and start slow and work your way to a quicker pace

  • Try the c25K program. My Dh did it and loved bored me, so I just started running! LOL

  • c25K...couch to 5K 9 weeks you will be running a 5K ( 3.1 miles)...put c25K into google and you'll find it..I promise!

  • has a good couch to 5k program. I have been running since 2003 (with breaks for pregnancy and postpartum and a few periods of sheer laziness) and I started with a similar program. Also- join the running moms group here at cafemom. lots of support there.
