is it bad to put neosporin on a diaper rash

if so why?

  • I don't think it's bad.... I've used it in a pinch. Just make sure the skin is very dry before you put it on b/c it petroleum based and can lock the moisture in.

  • I've used it quite a few times while at a friend or family members. It may not be the "ideal" thing, but it works if you have nothing else.

  • I used it in a pinch or with open areas. I also recommend Triple Paste. It's expensive, but SO worth it not to see my little sweet baby butt all red and stuff. The other thing that worked, but I would only do it after a bath is Vaseline. It does protect well for that first diaper change or two, but after that, I was worried about trapping germs in there. Oh wait, you didn't ask for recommendations. Sorry. LOL

  • I use unscented vaseline and pure corn starch instead of products with way to many chemicals and fragrance. Works well and does perfectly fine with the skin, I suggest natural methods =)

  • No, I had to do that a couple times when my daughter was a baby..she was always getting rashes
