  • It depends. If the victim is under 18 years of age at the time of the incident, prosecution must begin within 22 years of the victim's 18th birthday. When it comes to misdemeanors, prosecution must begin within a year. For other sexual felony crimes, prosecution must begin within 6 years of the offense.
