  • They get what's called an "unexcused tardy"......meaning they were there but they were either late to school or left early. If you're taking them to the doctor then you need to get a doctor's excuse for the school.

  • at our schools they are counted as there

  • Our school policy is -if they are notified ahead of time for absence and it is approved by the school office - they will mark the child there for most of the day, and the 30 min is considered 'excused absence'. If it has not been approved or not notified then it is an unexcused absence for that period of time.

  • At our elementary school they count them there for the day. However, they will count it as a tardy, either excused or unexcused depending on if you send in documentation of why they left.

  • They count them as "Here" at the beginning of the day, so yes.

  • At my son's school, if they're just leaving 30 minutes early, then yes, they get counted for the day because they were there for the day. Nothing much happens during the last 30 minutes of school anyway.

  • They just show it as an early dismissal at our school. They are still marked present for the day though as long as they are there the majority of the day.
