What are some good ideas for cheap, wholesome meals?

We are at the end of our monthly budget and running low on a lot of the bulk food items. I need to plan meals for the week on a low budget. Does anyone have any good ideas for healthy meals that don't cost a lot? Thanks :)

  • I would say alot of chicken. :)

Sometimes when I run low on my grocery money, I try to spend I certain amount per week. I do a chicken week.

3 nights we have chicken-baked, boiled and fried and veges what ever is on sale, with potatoes- fries, baked or mashed.

2 nigtht pasta- the kids love it... with salad only two eat that my self and daughter.

My total would come too about. Bringing my total for five days less then 30.00

    Good luck...

*i used chedder cheese and cream of chicken soup in stead of potatoe
